Margaret Gallagher joined The Association For Community Living in 1978. She was promoted to Director of the Specialized Home Care Division in 2010.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Holyoke College, and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Springfield College. Her work experience encompasses various positions in the fields of Social Work and Human Services, including the position of Social Worker for what is now the Department of Children and Family Services, Case Manager for the Department of Youth Services, and Investigator for Springfield Juvenile Court.
For Specialized Home Care, she has worked as Placement Coordinator, Placement Team Supervisor, Associate Director and Interim Director. As certified trainer for the Department of Children and Families’ pre-service program, she has played an ongoing part on the development and
implementation of Care Provider training protocols. She has been instrumental in developing the services, policies and initiatives for the Division, and has developed the Adult Family Care component of the agency. Through her tenure with Specialized Home Care, she has played significant roles in the development and direction of the Division, and in developing the standards and quality now representative of Specialized Home Care.
